After 11 years on St. John, I finally got to take one of Sloop Jones painting workshops. I loved it! The atmosphere was inspiring with color splattered all over the studio. The vivid tones and hues of paint juxtaposition with the vivid colors of the tropical gardens around the workspace, made it inviting for creativity. Open air studio with gentle warm breezes flowing thru, I could have stayed there for days. I love being around creative people, and even those who think they aren't, found it creeping out of them in surprise, and all of a sudden they were lost in smiles and play. I highly suggest taking this workshop even if you are not one to wear this style of clothing, you know someone who does and there is nothing nicer than a homemade gift. There are plenty of styles to choose from in garments. Funny thing is, not one of them came out bad! Go ahead, Treat yourself.

You can choose so many ways of applying the paint as well, from soaking to splattering, from stencil to stylized. Marcia and Terry were very helpful in every aspect from emotional to technical! I do have a new respect for the Sloop collection as I learned the process.
